To find out the charges levied by your current mobile service provider you will need to phone their customer services. The numbers for the main service providers are:

O2 : 0870 241 02 02

Virgin Mobile : 789 from your mobile or 0845 6000 789 from a land-line

Vodafone : 191 from your mobile or 08700 700 191 from a land-line

Orange : 150 from your mobile phone or 07973 100 150 from any other phone

T-Mobile :150 from your mobile phone or 0845 412 5000 from a land-line.

Calculate roaming charges

The amount of the roaming charge that you pay will vary according to the service provider you use (e.g. Orange, o2, T-Mobile or Vodafone), what service package you have with them, and which country you are in when you are making or receiving a call.

It is worth checking out the other information on this site too. it is objective and informative. E.g. whilst there is a lot of talk about the mobile phone companies reducing roaming costs this does, at present, appear to be little other than talk!

3) It will be cheaper for people to call you. There are other less-sophisticated international SIM products, but non have UK numbers.

This means that when you friends, family or business contacts call you, they pay an excessively high amount to call you.

With maxSIM™ they will simply be paying the standard cost their service provider charges for a call to a UK mobile phone.
